We collect as little as we can get away with: an email address if you volunteer it, some anonymous reading habits, and whatever you choose to send us. Here's the full accounting.
The muster list
If you join the muster list, your email address is stored with Kit, our newsletter provider, and used only to send you the updates you signed up for. Joining is double opt-in (nothing happens until you confirm), every email carries an unsubscribe link that works instantly, and the list is never sold or shared. Kit's own policy lives at kit.com/privacy.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether the site is broken on phones. A small banner asks before any analytics cookie is set. Decline and you're still counted, but as an anonymous, cookie-free ping that can't be tied to you or your device. Your choice is remembered on this device; to change it later, reset your choice and the banner will ask again.
On your device
The warband builder keeps your warbands and preferences in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device: it is never transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and abuse prevention, as every host does.
When you email us
If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can reply and run the game. Writing to us does not add you to the muster list; only joining it yourself does that.
Other people's houses
Links to Discord and our social channels lead to other companies' platforms with their own privacy policies. Once you're through the door, their house rules apply.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Open a channel and we'll sort it, usually within days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If what we collect ever changes, this page changes with it and the date below moves. Meaningful changes get a mention in the news.
